The lawmaker representing kogi west district,senator Dino melaye,reportedly abducted by gunmen in gwagwalada,a suburb of Abuja.

senator Ben Murray Bruce who represented Bayelsa east disclosed this through his tweeter handle on thursday and he revealed he got the information through Dino Melaye’s brother who claimed the lawmaker was reportedly kidnapped after the attack from the gunmen on their way to kogi state

Dino Melaye was one of the senators who  defected from All Progressive Congress (APC) to Peoples Democratic Party(PDP).

however,police have yet to confirm the abduction.

32 APC lawmakers defect to PDP,4 to ADC

 a sudden twist of fate, the ruling All Progressives Congress has had 32 of its members in the House of Representatives defecting to the opposition Peoples Democratic Party on Tuesday.

Four other lawmakers also defected to the African Democratic Congress

Thirty-two members of the APC in the House of Representatives had defected to the PDP in what is turning out to be a macabre political dance.

Four others in the APC from Oyo State also defected to the ADC, bringing the total number of defection to 36.

The Speaker, Mr. Yakubu Dogara, has just made the announcement, throwing the PDP camp into jubilation.

However, the APC still remains in the majority.

Fayemi takes in early lead presently in ekiti governorship election.

DR. Kayode Fayemi, the All Progressive Congress(APC) candidate has taken early lead in the ekiti state governorship election that took place today.

Of the eight local government areas where results have been announced by electoral officials, Fayemi has won in seven, as the official announcement by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is being awaited.

The total of the eight results shows that the APC has 87,914 votes while the PDP has 70,625 votes, showing a difference of 17,289 votes.

now the PDP candidate has only won a local govt. but what are we to say the calculation is still ongoing.

Dino melaye speaks on alleged attack and this what he has to say

Senator Dino Melaye who was attacked by gunmen and kidnapped has finally said something about the attack and this is what he has to say.

He(Dino Melaye)said this via his tweeter handle thanking the whole of Nigeria for not relenting in their prayers towards him and that he spent 11 hours in wilderness after being kidnapped by gunmen on thursday,july 26.

this was after he escaped which is still unknown and why he was kidnapped.

Osun state election:Ademola Adeleke wins Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) primary governorship election.

The lawmaker representing Osun West district in the National Assembly, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has won the governorship primary election of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in osun state.

The Chairman of the Election Committee and Bayelsa State Governor, Seriake Dickson, declared the lawmaker the winner on Saturday after he defeated three other aspirants in the exercise held in Osogbo, the state capital.

Senator Adeleke polled a total of 1,569 votes to beat his closest rival Dr Akin Ogunbiyi who scored 1,562 votes.

When the votes were counted, Adeleke had 1,569 while Ogunbiyi had 1,559 but his agents called for a recount after which Ogunbiyi’s votes were confirmed to be 1,562.

The delegates also demanded another recount of Adeleke’s votes, a request which Governor Dickson declined as he proceeded to announce the results.

Having won the PDP ticket, Senator Adeleke would contend with Gboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress (APC), as well as candidates of other political parties in the September 22 governorship election.

About 3,000 delegates from various wards across the local government areas of the state participated in the exercise.

11 aspirants had indicated interest to represent the party in September, but seven of the candidates later pulled out.

They include a former Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Adejare Bello, Professor Adeolu Durotoye, Jide Adeniji, Senator Olasunkanmi Akinlabi, Ayoade Adewopo, Lere Oyewumi and Felix Ogunwale.

The aspirants said they resolved to withdraw to ensure stronger bond within the party, and because of the appeals from PDP leaders.

Senator Adeleke consequently beat Dr Akin Ogunbiyi, as well as Fatai Akinbade and Nathaniel Oke to emerge the winner of the primary.

He was one of the 17 aspirants who participated in the exercise that took place friday,20 july 2018,in the 332 wards in the whole of the local government areas of the state.

Some of the other aspirants included the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Lasun Yusuff, and Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Dr Najeem Salam.


Others in the race included Ezekiel Oyemomi, Saka Layonu, Abdulgafar Amere, and Kunle Adegoke, among others.

Oyetola is the current Chief of Staff to the state governor, Rauf Aregbesola.

Two killed in zamfara market attack

In the incident that took place on thursday evening,19 july  at the market in karakai village,Bugundu local government area of the zamfara state where gunmen were firing shots and in the process two people were killed and three other people injured.

The spokesman of the Zamfara police command,Mohammed Shehu,confirming the incident on friday said”there were gunshots by gunmen in the market and in the process two people were killed,three got injured”.

He added “during the attack,the police team at the market could not exchange fire with the attackers to avoid further loss of lives”.
Mr shehu further stated that the attackers used the crowd as shield to escape from the scene.

Showing that,the normality has been restored with patrol teams keeping vigilance in the affected areas.
According to the police,investigation has commenced with the view of fishing out and arresting the perpetrators.
